Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12) By Julie Garwood

Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12)Fast Track by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I feel like saying WOW cause I reached the 12th book XD this is the second series I have read that I reached this number ^^

Since the main couple here were introduced in a previous book in the series I've been waiting for their book, since there have been mention about them in two books. However, this book sent me into a crying fit since page one I'm serious from page ONE. It was such sad touching scene.

I liked the hero and heroine in here, the heroine acted as if she got over her crush but it's kinda ironic, when she started to convince herself to stop and start looking for someone else the hero got possessive and wants her.

- I liked how she started living with the hero, and have he knew how to manage her XD

- I liked how the hero got possessive

- The villains are kinda expected it was either from his side or her side, and the synopsis was misleading regarding the villain but maybe that was on purpose.

- I kinda hope the someone from her mother's family would welcome her, but I'm glad she has her own family so I'm glad to give them the boot XD

I LOVE JULIE GARWOOD!! *fangirling moment* XD

Hotshot (Buchanan-Renard, #11) By Julie Garwood

Hotshot (Buchanan-Renard, #11)Hotshot by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This one in the Buchanan-Renard series didn't contain a single Buchanan, which is a bummer but it's still a really great book.

This book was less intense on the action scale, and by action it's not the bed kind XD but the suspense kind. there wan't much mystery in it either since we knew the culprit from the get go, I think it was more focused on the characters themselves and their romance more.

- I think in here the heroine was my favorite character, she was so vibrant and good. Her goodness was more evident in how she treated people and brought them smiles and happiness like the hero, she gave him a sense of calm and settlement since with his line of work he sees horrible stuff.

- I liked the two friends the heroine made, the thee of them were totally different in appearance but all of them were good people.

- I liked how the hero confessed his feeling for the heroine it was such a cute and unique way.

- The interactions between them were so cute, like they instantly clicked as a couple, like there wasn't any awkwardness between them.

- I like the other couples as well, I don't have a favorite but it was nice to see the development of one and the instant attraction of another.

- Loved the epilogue

Sweet Talk (Buchanan-Renard, #10) By Julie Garwood

Sweet Talk (Buchanan-Renard, #10)Sweet Talk by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This one was nice

It took me a bit to get into it, since I'm a bit busy.

Anyway the characters were fun to read, especially when they were together and even when they are apart. The author was right when she described the heroine as a pessimist, cause she always thought either she did something wrong or something is wrong with her, and she always expected the worst.

- I liked the hero's version of keeping his distance at times.

- I'm a fan of Popsicle myself, and I sympathize with the hero and his partner XD

- This time the villain was a bit obvious so I knew who it was from the start, we just needed for them to get solid proof it was him.

The Ideal Man (Buchanan-Renard, #9) By Julie Garwood

The Ideal Man (Buchanan-Renard, #9)The Ideal Man by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok this one is going to my favorites shelf XD

- I think this one was a bit shorter than the previous ones but certainly it was amazing.

I loved the couple in her especially him gruff one moment then sweet the next, and she being the first female in this series with a horrible past full of restraining orders and hospitalizations. even their first meeting was a bit funny during the circumstances of the shooting, he thought she was a high schooler XD

- I liked the fact that she was a prodigy since she was in high school at the age of 11! talk about amazing

- I liked the stories the people around her said, like the story her dad said about her outsmarting a professor, the especially the story the sheriff said, I liked the sheriff very much solely for the fact even thought he was acting the delinquent he was the first who came to her rescue.

- In here the villain were a known fact but their wear about were the tricky part, so him being her shadow was a bonus to both of them XD

- Plus this is the first time this book didn't have any connecting to previous books or characters, not that I'm complaining cause the story is amazing, I'm just stating what I'm noticing ^^

- I loved the fact that she was fangirling over his football player brother, and his history having such a diverse and awesome family

Sizzle (Buchanan-Renard, #8) By Julie Garwood

Sizzle (Buchanan-Renard, #8)Sizzle by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think this is one cute suspense book XD

Of course as usual I liked both main characters, the heroine was the mach type who likes to take care of herself and the people she cares about regardless to her safety. The hero was the by the book type of guy and oh how I loved him, the accent was divine XD

- I liked how the heroine was self possessed and seemed to other so self assured even if on the inside she was rattled XD

- I LOVED the hero, and he's the first one in the series with the Scottish lineage that actually knows, becoming a laird and having a keep covered that, but there were scenes I loved even thought nothing important happened, liked when he was with Jack MacAlister, I loved that scene cause it made me recall the Kincaid and MacAlister brothers from the Lairds' Fiancées series, and now their descendants are standing together, ignorant of that long forgotten fact but still became friends.

- And again Julie Garwood concocts an amazing suspense story that keeps the reader anticipating the ending and the unmasking of the villain

- I liked how comfortable he was with the grandmother, and how she took to him instantly, plus the scenes that happened there were funny especially how the heroine keeps telling the hero they can't fool around cause the grandmother doesn't like it XD

- Her parents were a real piece of work, like seriously they are living in their own fantasy world, not only them but the puppet Milo he certainly lived in his own fantasy, how he first saw her then liked her then she became his love and at the end HE left her so he can save her life! he was an entertaining piece to the story XD

BTW what's with the guys and "I need to protect you" sentence every time they wanna go wear a condom? can't they just say I need to wear one or I need to cover up or something, cause every single one of them said it

Fire and Ice (Buchanan-Renard, #7) By Julie Garwood

Fire and Ice (Buchanan-Renard, #7)Fire and Ice by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok I take back what I said in my review in the previous book, I still can't predict Julie Garwood's villains ^^

This book was a bit different in terms of the hero and heroine, here the hero was the type who likes to rile her up and pisses the heroine off, for his own enjoyment. At first I wasn't enthusiastic about reading this one cause it didn't get into the Buchanan family much, but it was good since it showed us plenty of a Buchanan couple.

- I liked the thing with the YouTube video, it certainly gave the book and certain scenes some humor.

- I liked the fact that Jack was Alec's partner, and Sophie was Regan's best friend.

- Of course I hated all the villains in all the books but the ones in this one were beyond despicable, human experimenting is just wrong in every way, and to justify it to since, that's just sounded like a lame bullshit of an excuse to me.

- I liked Sophie's dad, he sounded more like a modern day "gentleman" pirate than a robin hood XD

Shadow Dance (Buchanan-Renard, #6) By Julie Garwood

Shadow Dance (Buchanan-Renard, #6)Shadow Dance by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think this book went by a bit faster than the others, and I evolved my deduction skills a bit more since reading this series XD

The heroine was a bit amusing on how she was all about the facts and tech stuff, but what made it amusing is her interactions with the hero, he made it sound entertaining without truly making fun of the heroine, excluding the teasing of course XD

The hero made an appearance in most of the books so far so I got to know him a bit, the womanizing charmer with sweet motives and honorable background. Since he always flirts but always helps the guy understands that he wants the girl, I liked him because he lessened the denial period that hero's usually get into in most books, thankfully it didn't happen to him.

- I loved how the heroine instantly fit into the town and how the town took instant liking to her, treating her as a regular and such XD

- I mentioned in previous reviews in this series that since I started it I enjoyed the fact that most of the last names are familiar since I've gotten to know them in Ms. Garwood's historical books, but what I loved most and it makes this book kind of special is that it contains a mention about a character in her western series about the Clayborne's and what's also ironic that I expected some of her Scottish characters would be mentioned since the ones doing the research has Scottish origins not the western ones XD

- Plus when I mentioned I evolved my deduction skills I started to guess the villain, accounting her previous books I learned to expected the unexpected, so in this case guess the guy who you wouldn't think of as the bad guy in the first place. In here for example I first thought of the new good sheriff they appointed then from their description of the murderer the guy is huge and that minimize the number, then I thought of that rich rancher, then said no since the villain's henchmen talked bad about him, not in a way a guy who is scared of his boss. So that left one person, and I'm proud to say I discovered him YAAAY!!

Slow Burn (Buchanan-Renard, #5) By Julie Garwood

Slow Burn (Buchanan-Renard, #5)Slow Burn by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ms. Garwood's contemporary work is vastly enthralling and I'm loving all the mystery in it.

What I love about this series is the amazing unexpected twists it contains, and the fact that it's not predictable. Usually I can sense the bad guy from the beginning or the middle of the book, but in this series I didn't know till the author herself revealed his identity, and I think this shows how much of a great writer she is.

- The relationship between the main characters was amusing, one second they try to act cold to each other, the next they are over each other trying to tear their clothes off, and the next they act like friends. The fact that the hero knew what he wanted from the beginning was great, he's not the type to be in denial or misery like the heroine but he welcomed it with a shit eating grin XD

- I liked the sub characters, from the sisters to the flamboyant friend, he was amusing the most XD

- I loved the story itself about the heroine getting blown up wherever she went and still they didn't know about the reason for the attempts most of the book.

- I loved the twist about the bomber contacting her to help her, it certainly wasn't expected and it was entertaining.

- I liked the fact that everyone around them turned to the hero for permission or decision making regarding the heroine as if he was her "handler" XD

Murder List (Buchanan-Renard #4) By Julie Garwood

Murder List (Buchanan-Renard #4)Murder List by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series keeps getting better and better ^^

- The couple in here didn't have any appearance in the previous book but they certainly had their presence in here. The couple also reminded me of the Regency Romance books, her all polite and elegant, him with his messy appearance and rakish attitude, which I liked it was a cute combination.

- Also I noticed that the difference in here was that even though as usual we get to know the villains thoughts throughout the story and still get surprised at the end, was the fact that this time we or the couple didn't know the identity of the villain and there wasn't any connection to them.

- I liked how comfortable the hero got and how everyone around the heroine took to him naturally.

- I liked the relationship the heroine had with the people around her especially the teenagers and part-timers, it was so sweet their loyalty to her.

- I liked also the grumpy tech women, and how the heroine could get to her and pulled her in, there showed the true depths of her positive and good attitude toward people.

- I liked the mystery story how intriguing it was, in no way was it predictable, which kept me enthralled wanting to know what will happen next. I'm still not very much used to Julie Garwood's contemporary writing, but so far I'm loving it, the stories keep getting better, the intrigue and mystery pulls you right in.

Killjoy (Buchanan-Renard, #3) By Julie Garwood

Killjoy (Buchanan-Renard, #3)Killjoy by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think this is my favorite from the series so far ^^

- I liked both main characters, and since the last book I was reallyyyyyyyyyyyy curios about John Paul and when I looked through the series to see when he will have his book I was glad it was the third one.

- I liked that the heroine got spunk, I expected no less from any heroine of Ms. Garwood, they are just not the type to stand back and do nothing, her heroines are fighters. Plus I also liked that she kept surprising the hero, he just stereotyped her for the spoiled type since their first meeting was at a spa, so every time she surprised him I had the urge to laugh and tell him that he doesn't know everything. And she's smart, of course all of Ms. Gsrwood's heroines are but in here with her deduction skills and all it was nice and intriguing.

- I liked the family connection and reliance in here, even though they are hundreds of miles apart they still helped and looked out for each other.

- The main villain in the whole story was creepy and a true psychopath, I hated her on the spot, how self-centered she was. And the way she used me disgusted me, I used to think of Monk as the responsible scary precise assassins you see in movies, but he so fell in to her trap that he was pathetic and she was the only reason for him downfall. Plus I hated how she blamed everyone for anything that went wrong and shes the perfect who deserves the world type.

- I liked how Ms. Garwood kept us on our toes about most things, like I knew about the villains from the start but at the end I still got surprised after knowing some facts that I didn't expect. Ok there is a character that I thought badly of since the beginning then I felt sorry for him and started to like him and then the shocking info came.

- Btw I never thought using sugar as an endearment was appealing but John Paul certainly changed that, s I guess the basic element that made me accepts it was the southern accent, it just made me melt XD

Mercy (Buchanan-Renard, #2) By Julie Garwod

Mercy (Buchanan-Renard, #2)Mercy by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*sigh*

Personally I haven't expected that I would like Ms. Garwood's contemporary work this much, I felt it was thriller like full of suspense and action, and since it is that yet it didn't give me the annoyed feeling I usually get when I read suspense, usually it's either run or get killed but in this series the characters had a pretense more pronounce than the suspense itself and I liked that cause they are the people who are living in that suspense.

- I disliked one thing in this book and that was how it focused a big part f it on the villains which I found unusual, since her first one in this series and The Bride had something in-common regarding the villains which is giving tidbits about the villains inner dialogue and only revealing his identity at the very end of the book, but in here she introduced them at the very beginning and went to more detail about them.

- I liked the cozy small town, with the naive good-hearted people, I especially like Big Daddy, and the fact that the whole town calls him that even the men, oh and the scene where the hero reprimanded himself saying that they even got him thinking of the man as Big Daddy that was hilarious XD

- I liked the coaching idea, and how the kids and town folk took to him right away, and the scene where at the end that kid ran to him for comfort and nearly landing him on his ass was heartwarming

- I liked that the hero was the take-action type since if he wasn't that then they certainly would have died

- I loved the last part and the epilogue and the hero certainly was impatient XD and the heroine was a stubborn women who was in constant denial

Heartbreaker (Buchanan-Renard, #1) By Julie Garwood

Heartbreaker (Buchanan-Renard, #1)Heartbreaker by Julie Garwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh boy *sigh*

Julie Garwood is the first writer that introduced me to romance books through "The Bride" and since then she was my top favorite author EVER, not one of the favorites but THE favorite ^^ I've been biased to her Historical novels and refused to read her contemporary work since it was thriller-like, but oh boy what have I been missing.

(BTW this is going to be my first review to one of her books, even though I read all her historical works and some even have memorized by heart, but I have read them before I started to write reviews so it kinda felt wrong, first impressions and all that, and anyway her works are all high up in a pedestal in my eyes)

I liked both characters, and it was kinda weird to read a contemporary book written by Julie Garwood, but it was amazing, the suspense part was maybe what I liked best, I couldn't figure out the bad guy till the very end when the hero did, though I suspected him of something else XD (The dog murderer; since he was the only one of the workers who helped the only lady and suddenly at that so I thought he might feel guilty for killing at dog but I never did suspect him as our main psychopath)

The hero was target oriented and I liked that he was honest to a fault telling her that they are going to get hot and heavy, though my only disappointment is that they didn't get as much action as I though, since in her historical works the chemistry and attraction between the couples were off the charts. The heroine was the selfless kind, helps when needed and even volunteered to put her self as bait so he won't kill another one instead and I liked how she didn't bulk, but faced every issue head on, whether it was her brothers disease or the psychopath or even the hero's feelings.

- I liked hearing familiar names like Buchanan and Clayborne since I have read them in her historicals and started imagining maybe these guys are their descendants and stuff like that they certainly left a good background as legacy ^^

- I liked the relationship that ran around the couple like with the brother of the heroine, you cans see he is close to both and he cares about them and vice versa, plus with the other FBI agent, and the boss, and the hero's family, and especially the two old ladies ^^

- I liked the teasing that went on around the hero, whether it was his boss or friend or brother and all were about the heroine

- The airplane phobia was a cute touch ^^

- The ending was cute and made me satisfied even if the book didn't contain an epilogue XD

My Julie Garwood Books ^^

Julie Garwood's Historical Romances were the first collection of books that belongs to a certain author that I started to obtain. Even though she is my favorite author I only read her historical's, well I'm partial to Historical Romance.

Unfortunately, I'm missing two books, Castles and The Gift. But looking at the books I'm a bit proud ^^
