Mystique By Amanda Quick

MystiqueMystique by Amanda Quick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is one of two by Amanda Quick that deals with Medieval Historical Romance, and personally I prefer this one over Desire.

In here I liked the characters, they had a comfortable balance between brilliance and idiocy, both the male and female character had their moment where they needed a throttle, a pat on the head or a kiss.

- My favorite character in here was Sir Erasmus, though he didn't get much of an appearance but his character outline itself appealed to me immensely

- I loved how Alice kept on going in to the rescue, especially with rival neighboring-related cousins

- I liked the scene when the supposed to be enemy came to pay a call and stayed over XD they really seemed to get along very well XD

Desire By Amanda Quick

DesireDesire by Amanda Quick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm sorry to say that I have read better books by Amanda Quick than this one. My complains are based dolely upon the characters nothing else, the writing, the mystery and the thrill of the events were as expected of Amanda Quick.

For one I really didn't like Lady Clarre, she kept on rejecting Gareth since the beginning, and she didn't even have a sound reason for that. Plus she kept on saying she hates over-bearing brutes , but to me she was the one who seemed over-bearing, opinionated, fast-tempered and judgmental. At the beginning I sympathized with her, on how she didn't have any choice but to marry a stranger, and then everyone thinks that she's not a virgin anymore, but through most of the book I just wasnted to throttle her neck.

On the other hand, I just wanted to kiss Gareth, he was so sweet and gentlemanly, even though he didn't look it, he was as much of a scholar as her father, and more of a knight than anyone she knew. I hated when she fought him on every turn, especially when it was his area of expertise, she DEMANDS him to ask her permission so that he can do whatever he wanted to do, everything was hers, and she didn't stop and think that she MARRIED now so everything must be shared and they are equal partners.

And Again Gareth was so sweet all the gestures he did for her sake, and the last chapter was the best of all. Oh and his scene with his men after his first time bedding his wife in a bed of rose petals XD

Reckless By Amanda Quick

RecklessReckless by Amanda Quick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was yet another great book by Amanda Quick, it contained love, adventure and mystery. I have to say that I loved it, it was humorous, and in a way different, the heroine could be counted as a different type of usual blue stocking, one who is in to literature.

I loved the main couple, Phoebe was the humorous element in the story, her antics and adventures was what made me smile most of the time, especially her family's and her husband's reaction t it, specifically the scene when he had a bet with her brother if she stayed home as ordered, and then he added it to her allowance. but there was a moment were I hated her when she seemed suspicious of Gabriel and didn't ooze the amount of confidence to convince him that she trusts him.

Mostly throughout the story I felt sorry for Gabriel more than Phoebe, he had to protect himself and his heart for a long while that he truly believed that he is not capable of love and doesn't believe in it, all his interactions with people who were supposed to love him, left him doubting the emotion itself.

Mistress By Amanda Quick

This was a great book, and I realized that I prefer Amanda Quick's books as Audio books more, Because I used to complain about the extensiveness f the details, but in Audio books they were another matter. This book is vastly entertaining, humorous, and mind challenging.

Iphiginia and Marcus looked to me two peas in a pod, they were so alike in interests and behavior that it sometimes was funny and useful, wherein the only difference was the common one between any man and women, he's logical and avoids love, she believes in love.

- In here I loved all the couples: Iphiginia X Marcus, Emilia X Adam, Zoe X Otis. All of them were cute

- One thing I like in Amanda Quick is that she inserts Mystery in to her books, and this time around I found difficulty figuring out the culprit, maybe after 3/4 of the book I guessed

- I hated the conflict concerning the Sands, honestly I thought it was selfish, both from the husband and wife and Marcus was the totally innocent victim

- I hated how people kept talking about Iphiginia not knowing the full truth, especially Marcus's brother, who kept bragging about his pure fantastic fiancee and telling him she's nothing like Iphiginia

Rendezvous By Amanda Quick

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to say that I loved it, I'm starting to get more in to Amanda Quick novels.

First, this book was mostly different from the first book I read Dangerous, well mainly in the characteristics in the main couple, where in here it was the usual of opposite attracts, where in Dangerous the main couple were vastly alike. But both parties were written in a most compelling way.

- As usual I like the child part, as I keep saying I'm a huge sucker for single parents.

- liked the little matchmaking projects.

Overall, it was an amusing, cute, page-turner of a book so *thumps up*

Dangerous By Amanda Quick

DangerousDangerous by Amanda Quick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well well well... So far this is my second book by Amanda Quick, and I have to say I'm leaning toward likey-likey ^^

I have to say I don't have much experience in mysteries in books, but I admit that Amanda Quick, wrote it beautifully, for once I never guessed the killer it the characters themselves did, and I also admit that I was doubtful at first. Plus it was a great idea about both the couple to be interested in investigations.

In Dangerous I didn't have a favorite character, because the couple were similar in many aspects as they both mentioned in their conversations repeatedly. But mostly I didn't like Sebastian patronizing commanding tone, I'm kinda of a feminist so I get little touchy in these issue XD, why was Sebastian allowed to assist with her work but she wasn't, murders not withstanding XD. But I have to say that both had their cute side, Prudence in her overall reaction to new investigation leads which makes her look bubbly, and Sebastian possessive reaction to Prudence. however as a side note I feel that the author focused more on the mystery part more than the romance part, which I know can be hard cause most authors do it the other way, but I guess its okay since their development was satisfactory.

Ravished By Amanda Quick

RavishedRavished by Amanda Quick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Amanda Quick, but I must say her writing style was to my liking XD

At first I didn't get much in to the story, so it started off slow, cause I really hated the everyone is badmouthing the Hero calling him, a beast a murderer, a lecherous bastard and such. usually these type of issues aren't new, I mean when the Hero has a bad reputation and such, usually his clan or people or staff someone would be by his side. however in here Gideon was all alone, except of the heroine, no one believed him, even his parents. That's why I felt a strange overwhelming urge of protectiveness toward Gideon.

Harriet was the typical bluestocking who is so devoted to her fossils to a degree that's was maddening (but who am I to argue, I have my own obsessions too XD), oh yeah and she talks A LOT! What I most liked about her was that she shared my sense of protectiveness toward Gideon, she was so defensive that she even splashed wine on someone in the Ballroom *shocking*! (well he did deserve it) and she was hitting him with her fists XD

Overall, halfway through the book, it started to get interesting with them being married and all, so *thumps up*

Scandal By Amanda Quick

ScandalScandal by Amanda Quick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In all the Amanda Quick books I have read s far, this was a bit different, I had some issues with the characters.
But as usual Amanda Quick delivered yet another great book.

One of my biggest issues with the book was the main characters especially the heroine, the only word that comes to mind when I think of Emily is Gullible. Naivete doesn't even measure up, in the story they make it seem that she only sees the good in people, and even the main guy wants her t face reality, I thought her harshest reality was him.

I really hated the idea of her worshiping him, and to the public eye she's like a pet waiting for the crock of his finger, which is exactly what some other characters described her. It's not that she looked fearless to me, it's that she have an image f another guy in her head. At first they communicated about literature for several months, then he marries a gave her a reality check, several times, that he's cold-hearted and he didn't even love or like her, that shes a means to an end. Yet she still clung to the idea that they are linked in spiritual ways that not everyone can reach. Honestly it got on my nerves most of the time, I just wanted to strangle her), oh yeah plus her total adoration and devotion to him, t the degree that she would have shot someone for him.

The only thing I have to say about Simon is that he was one asshole of a jerk, granted he succumbed to her whims at times, but those times aren't worth all the criticism and the hurtful things her said to her. and I hated that he only told her he loved her at the very very very end.

I loved the idea that most of the staff were former pirates and the sort and how all of them in their own way worshiped and adored Emily.

Loved how her twin brothers started to look up at him in the manner of hero-worshiping

Overall, other than what I have stated about the main characters it a *thumps up*
