I read only couple of books by this author which were in the Hearts in Darkness series which so awesome and everyone should read them.

So I've been looking around for an MC book without anything too deep into the illegal area and this one was perfect.

- I loved the hero and the heroine, especially how the heroine was all innocent and naive and scared but the under the care of those gruff bikers she blossomed and started to develop and she became more open

- I loved the reaction the hero had the moment he laid eyes on the heroine, I always like that gut reaction when the guy actually freezes for a moment to take her in, and especially when the heroine isn't the model type or she no self confidence in the looks area but he loves all her innocence and naïveté and warmness XD

- I understood where the hero was coming from with keeping his distance from the heroine but I was supporting the relationship from the get go.

- I loved how the hero got closer and closer to the heroine and how they were always just so perfect with each other and those 15 years difference between them don't even show XD

- Let me just saw I hated the heroine's dad the more I heard about her past and what he did the more I wanted to kill him.

- I loved the relationship and deep friendship between the heroine and her best friend and that last scene between the both of them made me cry.

- The ending was cute I just wished that there was an epilogue

Laura Kaye is a great writer, because just from a short story "Heart in Darkness" she created a great wealth of emotions. I can wholeheartedly admit that I went from feeling cute to sad to melancholy to happy all in such a short span. And her sequel is no different, but I have to say it leaned toward the melancholy side much more.

- I loved the relationship between the hero and the heroine, and I honestly loved most of her family, and the first quarter of the books was great and cute with few moments of self doubt.

- I loved the story as a whole but I hated the melancholy aspect cause along with the story I started feeling melancholia and sadness, even nearing the end I tried to hold the tears back but I failed and I think some people at work looked at me weirdly when they heard me sniffling and whimpering while looking at my phone XD

- I hated the self doubt which occupied a huge corner in the story, the guy was amazing, just because some people were assholes to him he thinks he's worthless, and I'm happy he got back on his two feet nearing the end, even though I didn't like what caused it and what led to it.

- I loved the part when he went to his rescuer and they had a long nice talk, it was a nice breath of fresh air, and again it made me tear up.

- If anyone was looking for a tearjerker, and they are easily led to tears, then this series is the one, cause seriously I prefer to happier kind of books but I was so pulled to this series that I couldn't simply walk away.

This was one lovely short story *sigh*

First I want to point out that I'm glad they both ended up stranded in the elevator together not with some freak or a psychopath XD

I liked both characters, their time in the darkness made them bond and share with each other what they never with other people. I liked the attraction between them even their insecurities even if they were unfounded. I understand that Caden felt vulnerable because he feared if she really saw him she would back off because off all his tats and piercings, and Makenna feared the same because of her boring life and looks. But since the beginning their chemistry was off the charts even if their looks wasn't what they were I doubted they would let each other go.

I was with them the whole way *emotionally that is XD* even after they were out that that's would be it, but I'm just glad it wasn't. The after was just WOW!!!

I just discovered there will be a sequel about them, I'm of course over the moon about it, yet I'm scared I just wanted them to be happy, I don't want them to face any problems or setbacks or anything.
