My Lady, My Lord by Katharine Ashe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I read this after a great deal of recommendation from different people. It was a humorous passionate touching story.
The story it self seemed to me like the movie It's A Girl Boy Thing, which was a contemporary version of the story, but of course the book itself had extra additions, and the unique sense of the regency era.
I loved Ian more than Corinna, well he seemed the quiet type but to hide his feels for her he fights with her, Typical. But he also was kind thoughtful considerate and more but those were hidden from the naked eye. Corinna was a bit of a snob, kept on insulting him and making him feel like a simpleton, when all he did was tease and help her, but eventually she understood his qualities and fell in love.
THAT part I didn't like, both are in love, both try to get together, both refuse other people, AND both misunderstand each other. It really bugged me when they kept taking one step forward then two back. Another thing that bugged me was everyone making Ian sound like a bad person, everyone warning Corinna of him, even his own brother.
-Loved the crying Scene XD
"It seems that the Earl of C. has given way to a maudlin humor of late. Apparently he was not satisfied with his swoon at the boxing match arranged by Gentleman Jackson earlier this week. This columnist has it on the authority of at least a dozen witnesses that yesterday on Rotten Row, in the midst of a race with his usual companions, Marquess D. and Lord G., Lord C. burst into tears. Feeling at fault for initially suggesting the race.., and seeing his friend’s distress Marquess D began to sniffle, then sobbed as though his heart would break. Several gentlemen observing joined in the weeping as well, including His Majesty..Soon there was hardly a dry eye on path or green. Even Lord G that paragon of manly, military stoicism, was seen to swipe at his eye with the back of his hand"
Question: since their parents got married and now they plan to marry, doesn't that count as Incest?
Overall, *thumps up*
