My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is my first book by Amanda Quick, but I must say her writing style was to my liking XD
At first I didn't get much in to the story, so it started off slow, cause I really hated the everyone is badmouthing the Hero calling him, a beast a murderer, a lecherous bastard and such. usually these type of issues aren't new, I mean when the Hero has a bad reputation and such, usually his clan or people or staff someone would be by his side. however in here Gideon was all alone, except of the heroine, no one believed him, even his parents. That's why I felt a strange overwhelming urge of protectiveness toward Gideon.
Harriet was the typical bluestocking who is so devoted to her fossils to a degree that's was maddening (but who am I to argue, I have my own obsessions too XD), oh yeah and she talks A LOT! What I most liked about her was that she shared my sense of protectiveness toward Gideon, she was so defensive that she even splashed wine on someone in the Ballroom *shocking*! (well he did deserve it) and she was hitting him with her fists XD
Overall, halfway through the book, it started to get interesting with them being married and all, so *thumps up*
