Lady of Conquest by Teresa Medeiros
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Finally done, this was one hell of a long book.
honestly it was one of the few books I rated 3, cause I'm a bit dissapointed. Mostly with the characters themselve.
As usual the writing was splendid, but this time the story was lng, the characters just makes you want to pull yur own hair out f frustration.
Specially the main crazy couple, they just keep on fighting, I don't deny that they had their cute moments, but man I'm really sympathetic with the heroin, the hero was more than not a jerk, when everthing turns bad, it's her. when someone dies, its her. when someone betrays him, its her. He didn't even take into consideration that shes just a pawn on his oh-I'm-the-poor-guy act the whole time, so yeah I really hated him for it, no matter how each book portrays a hero to be the best guy for the girl, he just messed the whole thing up, he used her, he beaten her, he humiliated her, he imprisoned her, he insulted her, he banished her, and later he wants her without any word of apology?!!! are you kidding me?! and the big shock is that not just shes the victim, its that when every time something happens to her and she starts to doubt him shes like I will go ask him, like he always does: never condemning a person without a trail. reality check: girl look at the mirror your the best example to contradict the whole thing.
Enough of the bad things, someone of the things I loved about the book was the unique story, the small easy to ignore comments, like how the commander of the Fianna was a giant who wont harm a fly unless in battle. And of course Nimbus, I only can say I really did love him.
