What a wonderful book!!
I loved the idea of the sister and the friend of the first couple coming together, they were so delightfully different, so unique.
Phillipa "Piper" was such a blue stocking, that you can't help but to love, I loved how she unnerved Cross when they first met, she's stalking him, him backing away trying to cover up XD.
Cross confused me at the beginning honestly, from the first book he was pictured as the one with the devil may-care attitude, but his magnetic attraction to Piper was confusing, it wasn't like Piper when she fell in love by the day and it wasn't love at first sight. anyway I loved how he potently cared about her and loved her.
What I liked about the book:
- I liked their interactions and how he was extremely possessive of her
- I liked every time he told himself I'm not asking and then .. he asks
- I honestly liked Castleton, to me he didn't look like the simpleton everyone imagined him, but a good hearted man that didn't care what people thought about him, and I liked his ending.
- I liked how Piper interacted with all of Cross's acquaintances from Temple to Knight to the prostitute to the pride and prejudice doorman and finally to the mystery lady at the gaming table.
- Loved Piper daring act that resulted n a riot, I would have have wagered just to see knight's face *snickers*
- I have to admit that the chair scene was one hell of an erotic sexy one.
- Cross kinda broke my heart with every interaction he had with his sister, and I was a bit disheartened when they didn't mention at the end a resolved ending to their conflict
- And Cross was an idiot under the hazard table, but he did the smart thing at the end *sigh*
Overall, *thumps up* and I'm looking forward to Temples story.
