A Gentle Feuding By Johanna Lindsey

A Gentle FeudingA Gentle Feuding by Johanna Lindsey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Well maybe because this book was one of her earliest books that it felt a bit different and unsatisfactory, it's not that it wasn't good but personally I wouldn't go as far as if to say I would add it to my Favorite Shelf.

In contrast to the previous book I have read by Johanna Lindsey When Passion Rules where I liked all the characters, in her I didn't like any, not the main characters or the supporting ones. The main characters were actually annoying, the girl supposed to have a temper and gumption but most of the book she's in fear or keeps repeating "How could He/They have done this to her?" I wanted to scream every time I read that sentence. The guy is supposed to be all abut her, but most of the book he was angry or hurt, and that annoyed me they both give certain reactions without giving any explanation to the.

My only favorite scene honestly was the fire incident where the Heroine was trapped with the elderly couple inside the cottage and her husband coming to the rescue.

Overall, *thumps side-ways* it contained a lot of heartache and misunderstandings in my opinion, there wasn't enough balance between the happy moments and the sad ones.

When Passion Rules By Johanna Lindsey

When Passion RulesWhen Passion Rules by Johanna Lindsey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was one kind of book that even through the characters it made me feel that it's so far-fetched a bit, but I loved every second of it, ok some moments it made me feel annoyed and frustrated.

The whole idea of a long lost princess raised by an assassin wasn't an original but I liked it her, cause Poppy was the character I liked the most, of course I liked Alana too. But mostly I felt sorry for her, suddenly being told that she's a princess and she must travel thousands of miles to claim her place as some country's princess was so unbelievable. Yet she believed Poppy and went with him, but what I hated most was the part when she met with Christoph and she tried countless times to make him believe her and him not doing that, I really hated him for it, and it was the only dim thing in this whole story that I didn't like.

As I said before I liked Poppy very much, that even when I finished the book I kept on thinking of wanting my very own Poppy, and one that I won't change a thing about, a foreign eccentric kind-hearted former assassin who would teach all kinds of things and love me with all his heart.

I loved Alana's meeting with Christoph's family, she fitted right away, and her meeting with her father almost brought tears to my eyes, but I admit that the almost was a very reluctant one, because some of the previous books I read with father and long-lost daughter meeting's were more potent than this, yet this had it's own charm.

Overall, *thumps up* my only regret is that this book didn't include an epilogue, for I wanted to know how both Alana and Christoph would settle in to married life, I want to know what will happen to Poppy and see more of father-daughter moments (with both fathers actually)

Breathe (Sea Breeze #1) By Abbi Glines

Breathe (Sea Breeze, #1)Breathe by Abbi Glines
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Abbi Glines and my first teen love story, if the attraction in books like Eragon and Divergent can be excluded, it was a nice change.

- I liked the theme, the characters, the scenario, the emotions ... simply I liked the whole deal. But my only thought most of the book, is that those were some intense emotions for teenagers XD

- I liked both the main characters most, I liked Marcus, The housekeeper and the aging gardener ^^

- Even if the mother was a useless person most of the time she had her moments, especially when the daughter needed her most, starting with the hug and worrying abut if she ate or not.

Overall, *thumps up* even though I saw low rating for this book, but personally I liked it.

A Man to Call My Own By Johanna Lindsey

A Man to Call My OwnA Man to Call My Own by Johanna Lindsey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's been a while since I have properly read a new book, cause first I had my exams then I had an intense urge to re-read a series I love, and what a great book! of course it's expected from Johanna Lindsey.

I loved all characters the good and bad:

- The Main Couple: Chad and Marian were cute and stupid, really really stupid I just wanted to shake them to their senses, they had moments were they kept on being adorable and companionable and just plain cute, but more often than not plain stupid, how they developed the misunderstanding and kept at it for a looooooooooooong while I started to lose hope. There were times I expected the misunderstanding to be resolved earlier but oh no they had to stay misunderstood.

- The bitch twin sister Amanda and her husband Spencer, they were supposed to be the nemesis of both the main characters, and at the beginning they were especially Amanda, where she orchestrated and initiated the stupid misunderstanding, but at the end I started to like her actually, and they fit perfectly together.

- The Aunt and the Dad were a cute pair

- I really detested the the twin's father, he was a selfish asshole

- The moment I really hated in the book was when they first made love and at one moment he mistook her for her sister Amanda, I really wanted to punch him for that.

Overall, *thumps up*

The Enchanted Castle By Edith Nesbit

The Enchanted CastleThe Enchanted Castle by E. Nesbit
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Oh boy .. it certainly was entertaining, but definitely a whirlpool.

At first I got interested in it cause I thought it might be entertaining and adventurous like Narnia and the sort, it had elements that resembled Narnia but they all circled in our world. If I was much younger I definitely would have enjoyed it, because it was full of adventures and the like, but at times I got bored and on others I was exasperated, I was thinking when the thing will be done, when will the problems regarding the ring will be over, for they seemed to keep on going on and on, just one problem after the other. It certainly gave me a headache.

Overall, a good book, recommended for a younger audience, mostly under 15 yrs old.

Storming the Castle (Fairy Tales, #1.5) By Eloisa James

Storming the Castle (Fairy Tales, #1.5)Storming the Castle by Eloisa James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first time reading anything by Eloisa James, the writing style was to my liking ... ect. I know I haven't read this series in order since I started with a novella but it was okay, nothing catastrophic happened ^^

I liked both Wick and Philippa, their instant attraction wasn't something new, but I liked how they found ways to be together, kissing after putting the baby to sleep, sneaking around and kissing, somehow it made feel warm-hearted, you know when you see two people so in love sneaking around and laughing about it, and it's all innocent.

What I really liked in this novella was that it didn't have the misunderstanding theme that most romance books have, I detest that cause when they just have mis-communication regarding a saying or something it creates disasters throughout the book, which this book didn't have (Thank God!!)

- Oh yeah I liked the aunt too, I mean how bold she was, like seriously who mentions getting a girl a chastity belt when you first meet the girl and she's right in front of you?! XD

- I know it was a novella but it felt too short, when I was enjoying it very much it just ended, and I'm still pondering how Wick got all the contingent and entourage with him, wasn't he penniless and stuff, then suddenly he's a to-be-doctor and a land owner?

Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After, #1) By Tessa Dare

Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After, #1)Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was a light-hearted type of novel by Tessa Dare yet very entertaining and engaging.

I liked both main characters, both had their own insecurities, their own problems, yet both dealt with it in their own way. I liked how tender they were toward each other, bow they seized every opportunity to be in close proximity of each other and can't help themselves but to touch. I liked the snuggling, the cuddling, the hair brushing, it all showed that their is more to love that just physical attraction and sex, and that a hard gruff man can yearn for these stuff and more for pancake ^^

- The solicitors were assholes, after embezzling his money they come just as you please and accuse the poor man of insanity?!

- The group of fans were a bit overboard but they were entertaining, especially the ending part when they were all united in helping and siding with Ransom.

- I like it in stories when a man realizes he's in love, even when it scares him, he embraces the fact and brazen out with it, no turning back. He didn't go into denial like the usual "I'm a man I don't feel love" or "I'm not deserving of love" or any other nonsense, he was the first to confess.

- I liked when they were all cuddly and snugly with each other, like when he first carried her to the castle when she fainted, or when she was cooking him pancakes in the morning

Overall, *thumps up* can't wait for the next book, and I'm curios about the identity of the main characters of it.

The Heir (Reid Family, #1) By Johanna Lindsey

The Heir (Reid Family, #1)The Heir by Johanna Lindsey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really liked this book, and truth be told I had my doubts it would be, but I gladly can admit that I was mistaken.

The story itself was splendidly done, and I loved all the characters, Johanna Lindsey had a way that made us love all the characters, my favorites were both grandfathers but I have to admit that I liked Neville more, Rafe of course, and lastly the main couple.

Sabrina was my favorite character of all in here, she was just so full of life and love, she liked people and people liked her back. I liked how she was comfortable with men, not the type to shy away or flirt shamelessly, but the type that makes everyone comfortable around her men and women alike. I felt sorry for her when everyone including herself kept going on about the only friends idea, and loved the parts that came after Duncan had convinced that he really truly loves her for herself.

Duncan in a way was an amusing character, he was like a puppet in his grandfathers hands wanting him to get married and stuff, but he was not fully in the controlled element, he just bared with it and went with the follow, and what I found mostly amusing were his every interaction with Rafe and how at the end he admitted that they were friends but pretended that it was reluctantly just for appearances sake. It was evident since the beginning he was attracted or at least intrigued by Sabrina he was just a bit of an idiot for not realizing sooner.

- I liked how both grandfathers kept on bickering, liking each other but not wanting to admit as such XD

- I almost cried at the end when Duncan embraced and finally accepted Neville and they were embracing so hard.

- I hated Ophelia, even though I'm curious about Rafe's story but since I read the blurb that it included Ophelia I think I'm gonna pass. To tell the truth, I don't want to read about her, her actions were just too appealing, maybe I will check the other books but I doubt I will read hers.

Overall, *thumps up*

The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After By Julia Quinn

The Bridgertons: Happily Ever AfterThe Bridgertons: Happily Ever After by Julia Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've been dying to read this one for months, I always wondered what happened to the Bridgerton brood after all the end of their book. Each part in this book had it's own eccentricities, it's own emotions some were heartwarming, others were heart-wrenching. A great sum of second epilogues:

1-The Duke and I:

I liked how Colin and Daphne kept on their close relationship for all those years. Daphne's reaction and the rest of the characters were somehow comical but Simon's brought what people might call a warm smile to my lips, he was just so happy. He looked to be somehow warmer in her, maybe with age his true-self surfaced more and more, disabling his so-called icy exterior.

2-The Vicount Who Loved Me:

This second epilogue was funny, full of mischief and all in all it was plainly as if Kate and Anthony were kids trying to outwit and out-win the other, and they took the saying "All fair in love and war" to heart, they literally used everything from bribery, to sabotage, to coping keys and finally to seduction XD

3-An Offer froma a Gentleman:

I have to say this part was one of my favorites, Poppy was a character that deserved her own happy ever after, and the mother of all wonders she did get it. Sophie made the appointment for the couple to meet, instant mutual attraction, and within maybe 10 minutes (give or take couple) of their meeting they were strolling and kissing. It was absolutely adorable.

4-Romancing Mr. Bridgerton:

In this part the only word that comes to mind is that its a "Tease", In here Penelope tries to tell her best friend Eloise that she was the famous Whistledown, they both hid secrets from each other, and when now they were in the open it was time to face each other.

5-To Sir Philip With Love:

I loved this part, Amanda's adoration and love toward Eloise was very evident in here, also her love toward her reclusive eccentric botanist father. Amanda somehow reminded me of Hyacinth more than Eloise, with the way her mind works and her train f thought, I liked how she and Charles met and bonded, nothing electrifying but comfortable and likable. Her father's reaction at the end was laughable and I think Charles did it on purpose.

6-When He was Wicked:

Here Franny was sad and even Micheal was sad, first it was for her and then it became for himself as well, but from the summary of the book we received hints that she will conceive, but the journey for her acknowledgement and acceptance of her bareness was gloomy and well ... sad. But thankfully it wasn't a long one cause as soon as she decided to live with it *viola* she's pregnant ^^

7-It's in His Kiss:

This one started funny, with hyacinth at the dress maker with her daughter, mentally asking forgiveness and admiring her mother, because her daughter was just .. like .. Her. I couldn't help myself from laughing couple of times here. I knew that Isabella had found the jewels but I didn't think that she woun't tell her parents, little children usually spill-out everything, but it was nice what she did for hyacinth at the end, like mother like daughter.

8-On the Way to the Wedding:

In this part I nearly chocked from the lump that was developing in my throat, it was so heart-wrenching seeing, reading somehow even sensing Gregory's sorrow and desperation that was trying to reach out to his wife was overwhelming. The whole time I was thinking " No he can't lose her, not after all he did to be together" and for a time I wished she would live while truth to be told I thought she would leave him alone and die. But god seemed to be merciful, she lives on.

9-Violet in Bloom:

This is my most favorite part and also the most heart-wrenching, in here it describes all of Violet's stages in life. I loved her meeting with her Edward at the ball, I felt sorry for her when he left her on her own, I kinda wanted to encourage her with that gentlemen thinking that he might become a kind-hearted lover to her (I concocted rapid fantasies around them). Like all her children I wondered was she satisfied in her life, I know she was surrounded with children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren, but was it truly enough? Didn't she want to be with someone she loved and loved her back, again? she was my favorite character in this series so I wanted to makes sure about her Happy ever after, for she definitely deserved one.

Overall, *thumps up*

Spell of the Highlander (Highlander, #7) By Karen Marie Moing

Spell of the Highlander (Highlander, #7)Spell of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my most Favorite book in this series, it's just potent. Full of emotions, sexiness, and mouth drooling.

Cian MacKeltar was an unexpected Hero, of course he was a full-fledged sexy Highlander, full of power and need, but what was unexpected is that this gruff hero was a love seeker at heart, because all his actions was so that he can find his one and true mate. He was misunderstood, they thought him a myth, a black sorcerer all that and more, but he was nothing more than a deceived man.

Jessi St. James was a cute and brave Heroine, I liked all he funny silly inner thoughts and actions, I wept for her and Cian at the end of the book, but it all made me love them all the more. Jessi had courage and actually stamina more than most men (like most heroines in this series), being thrown in a tornado full of murder, black-rich-sorcerer and they are constantly on the run was no easy task.

Cian was such an affectionate and loving man, well his first words to her after she gt him out were a bit on a different direction, yet he was still loving, he worshiped the ground Jessi walks on, After their arrival at MacKeltar castle was the part I really loved and also the most heart-wrenching.

Overall, I've read this book many times and truthfully I don't know which number this time is but I don't think I will ever stop so *thumps up*
